Family Life Ministry
The Family Life Ministry of the Adams Boulevard Church of Christ is committed to building strong families. In order to do that we: provide educational opportunities through classroom instruction and library resources, which emphasize family values, strengthen relationships and teach people how to cope with the everyday problems and stresses of life; promote and plan activities which strengthen our families and provide avenues of fellowship to draw our physical families as well as our spiritual family closer; and provide avenues for counseling through our staff as well as trained professionals. Some of our activities include: Spring Break "Family" Ski Trip, "Family" Fish Fry & Campout, Annual "Family" Picnic, All-Church Holiday Party, Couples Retreats and Family Retreats.

Ladies' Ministry
"EVES" - "Encouraging Virtue - Empowering Service"
The purpose of the Adams Blvd. EVES Ladies Ministry is to plan and coordinate an active and balanced program of work and spiritual growth for the women of Adams Blvd., as well as serving as a resource for fellowship activities.

Men's Ministry
As godly men in today’s worldly society, we must understand that not one of us can meet all of the challenges placed before us, alone. While we welcome and require the support of our families, we also require the challenges and accountability that only a “brother in Christ” can hold us to. Proverbs 27:17 described this relationship in layman’s terms: “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”

This “sharpening” of God’s tools, men, only takes place when they come in contact with one another for a common purpose. It requires give-and-take from both parties. The energy created by the process is transforming. The result is two tools, both finely honed to an edge, ready and able to serve God’s purpose.

Our mission statement is founded on the principal of providing men opportunities to spend time together; studying God’s word, playing, and serving others.

• Serving the needs of the Church
• Through relationships with other men
• By participating in regular activities
• While mentoring others

We do this by coordinating Community Care Service Opportunities, Father-Daughter dinners, Father-Son ballgames, Road Trips (Bass Pro), Men’s Retreats, and Men’s Breakfasts.

We welcome each and every man to be a part of this activity-oriented ministry. If you are interested, please visit, call, or write to our church and join us in our service to God.

Not Finished Yet
Not Finished Yet is the name of our retirement age group. The original name is meant to convey the idea that we do not quit working for the Lord regardless of our age.

Our senior citizens are encouraged to work in all of our ministries. In addition, Not Finished Yet is offered to further enhance their service and fellowship.

Not Finished Yet meets at 10:30am on the third Tuesday of each month, September through May. The meeting consists of fellowship around the coffee pot and appetizers, an interesting program varying from just fun things, slides of members' travels, financial, tax, and health subjects to spiritual matters. This is followed by an economical and delicious dinner.

Several day trips and an occasional overnight trip are made each year in our comfortable, air-conditioned bus. There are no charges for these trips other than meals, entrance fees, etc.

Not Finished Yet sponsors the Bibles for Hope Harbor Kids project which provides a new, age-appropriate Study Bible for each new resident of Hope Harbor Children's Home and Academy. Other projects are undertaken periodically.

We welcome all retirement age folks to come join us and in the words of our original song: "We want to serve Jesus, and we love everyone. We're going to keep fighting until the victory is won. We want to keep giving much more than we get, let's live what our name is, We are Not Finished Yet."

Outreach Ministry
In Matthew chapter 28, verse 19, Jesus gave us what is called The Great Commission – “Therefore go out and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…”  With this in mind, the main goal of our Local Outreach Ministry is to create encounters to build relationships with those that are not members of our church family.  We hope that through these encounters, relationships will be built and opportunities will be found for our members to demonstrate God’s love and to share our faith.

To help us achieve this goal, and as a result of creating these opportunities, we hope to do several things:

  • Promote an environment within our church family that will create an awareness and excitement regarding outreach
  • Encourage and give new members and visitors an opportunity to get involved
  • Promote positive, continuous exposure within the community
  • Create better communication between the community, our church family, our committees, and our leaders

Some of the ways that we are working toward these goals include community involvement such as our Trunk or Treat (Halloween alternative) event and involvement in community activities such as Sunfest.  We also enjoy cooperating with groups like the Bartlesville Literacy Council in providing a meal for Jane Phillips Elementary School Pre-K parents and kids.  The creation of Outreach newsletters and mailings to visitors and guests of our activities, as well as members of our church family, has helped to keep everyone informed of activities at Adams Blvd.

Our overall church mission statement is Knowing Christ and Making Him Known.  As a church family we are continually learning and growing in our quest to get to know Christ, and as we do this we also want to be sure that we are doing our best to make sure that others share in our adventure to get to know Him as well.

If you would ever like to join us in this great adventure, please don’t hesitate to visit, call or write us here at Adams Blvd.  We’d love to have you along.

Prison Ministry
Our goal is to love people as God loves people.  One way we attempt to express that love is by visiting those in prison.  Jesus himself encourages us, in Matthew 25: 31-46, to visit those who are in prison.

We at Adams Blvd. Church of Christ have folks who visit with prisoners at the Dick Conner Correctional Facility for men in Hominy, OK on the second and fourth Sunday evenings of each month.  One group worships with the prisoners in the Medium Security Unit on the second and fourth Sundays while another group leads a worship service at the Minimum Security Unit on the second Sunday only.  Everyone involved comments how much of a blessing it is to us to meet with, to teach, and to worship with these men in prison.

Oh yeah, we also have some wonderful ladies who send Bible Correspondence courses to many of the prisoners, helping many to come into relationship with Jesus Christ.  We love people at Adams Blvd., and visiting prisoners is just one of the ways we try to show it.

If you would be interested in joining with us in this exciting and fulfilling ministry, please call or write to our church.  We would love to have you join with us in service to God.

Singles Ministry
The Singles Ministry provides a supportive and non-threatening atmosphere for singles of all ages, whether never-married, widowed, divorced or a single parent.   In this ministry you are accepted for who you are and WHOSE you are!  It is a place where each person’s talents can be put to work for the kingdom of God.  All activities have a spiritual foundation and include fun, food, fellowship and service to each other and others.

There is a Singles Bible class that meets each Sunday morning to study and learn from God’s Word.  Along with this, the Singles Ministry is involved in various activities including the annual Potato Party and Corn Party, Memorial Day Cookout, Fish Fry, Breakfast for a Buck, Game Night, Mystery Dinner and Prayer & Praise.  We also co-sponsor a quarterly Red Cross Blood Drive, and our large event each year is the Northeast Oklahoma Singles Seminar.  This event, which our Singles Ministry hosts here at Adams Blvd., is generally scheduled in October and is a weekend long event drawing singles not only from northeast Oklahoma but from surrounding states as well. This is a special time for fellowship and spiritual growth.

Two of our elders and their wives lend moral, spiritual and emotional support, along with their physical presence, to the members of the Singles Ministry.  In addition, several married couples provide encouragement and service to the ministry as well.  We all help each other as the Singles at Adams Blvd. seek to glorify God by serving others, both inside and outside our church family.

If this or any other ministry here at Adams interests you, please feel free to visit or contact us.  We would love the opportunity to get to know you.
